Self confidence is a personality trait. Some are naturally born with it while some struggle to have it. However, self confidence is a trait that can be developed and maintained throughout life. The process to develop self confidence may not be easy and obstacles may come your way.
Sometimes, life events will hit your confidence and regaining it can be a hard job. Nowadays, it is rare to see people who are completely satisfied with his or her selves. This is the reason why more and more people want to develop self confidence. With good self confidence, one can attract all positive thoughts around, making him or her successful in every field that he or she chooses.
In order to develop self confidence, you need to be prepared and welcome all positive changes that can happen in you. Take note that the lack of confidence can really hold you back in any areas in your life and it can be a big burden. If a person lacks self confidence, it can manifest in many ways. First off, people with poor self confidence tend to stay in unsatisfying careers and relationships.
This is because, they don’t believe in themselves and they don’t think that they can do better or have the power to raise their standards. This can be self perpetuating because if you are not happy in your life and if you are uncertain of the future, you sure wouldn’t thrive to do your best.
This is the reason why you need to develop self confidence. People with very low self esteem often resort of self destructive activities such as addiction or other eating disorders. This can be life-threatening and that is why it is really a must to develop self confidence in order to evade oneself to these chaotic situations.

What percentage, in a class of 30 students would agree with you that Mathematics is a great subject? You might answer around 10% to 35%” and that is all. This may well be true, most kids today are not thrilled to solve Mathematical equations not because they do not know the processes involved, but because of the lack of interest in it.
In a similar way, our daily activities do not mean 100% joy and 0% problems. At times, we have more problems than joy. Fortunately, some individuals are skilled in handling problems.I personal consider it a situation because I′m optimistic a lot of the time.I see everything as a mathematical equation,GOD′s creation of the universe and everything in it is based on mathematic. That being said, let me get back to individuals I′ll call carefree, Want to know their secrets? Here are their secrets, which in itself is really not a secret all of us have the capacity to step into our own greatness.
Well, carefree people, as I called them, have one thing in common: optimism. These kinds of people do not mean they never had problems before. Try remembering a colleague, a relative, a friend, or someone from your community who has the brightest smile at the start until the end of the day. How many times did you see that person frown? Carefree people are fun to be with because their attitude is contagious. Have you tried asking them how they carry their problems lightly?
1.Learn to control your feelings by separating negative feelings from positive thoughts. This is the first step in solving problems. Only after you have cleared your mind with unnecessary thoughts can you start solving your problems accordingly.
2.Treat each problem as challenge and opportunity for self-improvement.
3.Free that scapegoat attitude. Are you pointing your finger or blaming others for mishaps? Take responsibilities for your mistakes. No one is perfect, so never put the blames on others.
4.Use a pen and paper, and rate the depth of the problem and possible answers to your problem. Probability law principle will allow you to evaluate how far you have thought of resolving your problems.
5.Keep a journal and treat it as a “secret friend” who is always willing to listen to your grievances. Write your feelings freely.
6.Develop a noteworthy hobby, for this will help you lessen or minimize stress in your life.
7.Take time off from work and create variations of your daily schedule. Relax and check out the best movies in town. Travel and meet new wonderful people. You will find these activities worthwhile in the long run.
The above tips will help you optimize those positive feelings of yours. Say you are already consumed by some problems. Here are the 4 steps in doing your problem solving:
1.Determine the root cause of the problem. If you think it is difficult, ask hundreds of why’s and what’s and you will soon find out the cause.
2.Think, strategize, and ask for resolution.
3.Develop a strong desire to solve the problem.
4.Review the situation for you to avoid repeating the same mistakes committed beforehand.
Consider that everybody experiences lowliness many times, but problems are problems. They are there not to annoy you, but problems are created when you cannot accept your limitations. Once you accept your limitations, problem solving is just a 4 step, hassle-free, and a life-sharpening experience indeed. Hence, never consume or lock yourself in your room when problem strikes. Think that problems are states of you being limited to something you need the most. But if you cannot have that important thing, accept it. Let go and move on and you will free yourself with worries. Remember, less worries mean less problems. If you think that you really want some time out because of problems, consider that there is another room available for you called “improvement.” http://bit.ly/193PrK
I\\\\’am just your average 57yr.old american citizen, who has spent my life working hard and long hours.I was born in Decatur Al. now am living in Saint Louis Mo for the past 44yrs.Worked 35yrs in manufacturing and spent several yrs driving over the road,I′am between jobs once again in my life. The world is a different place than when I grew up.But a change is in the making.Have also been doing a lot of research in real estate and investing or saling anything I can profit from even on the Internet,it’s not easy you just have to stay at it.Trying to learn this Internet marketing business and I think that going to take some time learning all of the ins and outs, does and don’ts,yet I know the Lord will get me through this somehow and someway, because GOD IS LOVE!
Dishonest people tell the truth most of the time, but honest people don’t lie. If someone tells you they can guarantee you’ll make a million dollars in six months… you know they′re lying, don’t you? So why bother to believe anything else they tell you? Honest people don’t lie.

You can become and accomplish anything in life! Your successes, greatness, and potential are determined by you alone and all of the characteristics necessary to achieve your goals and dreams already lie within you. Our success and potential is not determined by talent or ability, knowledge or money, race or gender, or even circumstance or setting – it is created, developed, and determined from within ourselves. Our dreams and goals will be achieved only when we understand and implement the fundamental laws and secrets for success.
Below is outlined the formula or secret to success; and yet, it is no secret at all because these laws of success have been understood and implemented by all the great philosophers, artists, religious leaders, military commanders, and political leaders of every age. It is these same principles that reveal and explain why today’s greatest athletes, performers, businessmen, scientists, and politicians have achieved and become what they have. Understand, however, that these laws are simple in theory, and yet extremely difficult in practicality. Far too often people mistakenly disregard the basic simplicity of these attributes and practices and wrongfully assume that the ‘how-to’ advice from books, seminars, and even mentors will reveal and teach them the necessary knowledge and specifics of how to be successful. And yet, even an understanding of and belief in these principles is not enough; success will only be accomplished and dreams can only be achieved when knowledge of these laws is combined with persistent action and daily implementation.
These secrets for success apply to everyone, and to any goal, dream, or success!
1) Put God & Family First: Regardless of what your dreams and goals are, never forget what success in life is all about. True success is not realized in the accomplishment of the goal, but in the person we become along the journey towards the goal. If in pursuit of our dream we fail to put God first, and do not make time for family, then all other successes will be failures. And when all is said and done, dealing with the disappointment of certain failures will be far easier than dealing with the disappointment that accompanies some successes because they were not the right successes. Putting God and family first will not only eventuate into the ‘real’ successes of life, but ironically, having these as your priorities will actually contribute to and be the reason for all other successes you achieve.
2) Desire Success: A strong desire to achieve a goal or dream is the fundamental starting point for all successes and accomplishments in life. Do not be confused however, because desire is not the same thing as hope, wish, or interest. Desire is synonymous with motivation, commitment, determination, and a willingness to do whatever is necessary to accomplish the goal or dream.
3) Dream Big, Think Big, & Think Differently: You may have a desire, but do you actually have a dream or a goal? Do you fall victim to the dominating culture of mediocrity and feel limited by circumstance, or do you actually think big and dream big? Until you do, average you will remain. We literally are what we think – so think big to be big! And be forewarned that when you find yourself thinking, speaking, and acting like the majority (in regards to dreams, goals, and ‘success’ in life) – you are in terrible company. Dare to dream. Dare to be and think different. And think big always. Then, with enough mental conditioning, belief, and persistent action, your dreams and big thinking will translate into actions that eventuate into big results.
4) Believe in Yourself & Believe Your Dreams Are Possible: We can become and accomplish anything! And yet, nothing great has ever been accomplished until there was first belief in self – and then faith and belief that the idea, goal, or dream was possible. We each spend too much time focusing on our own weaknesses and failures, the lack of knowledge or money, fears and doubts, the abilities and talents of others, or on limitations and circumstances that really only exist in our own minds. Our potential is actually what frightens us; and more often than not, mediocrity and being average is desirable because it justifies us not having to put in the work necessary to be successful. Truthfully, the heart of the problem and the number one reason why most people fail to accomplish their dreams, goals, and potential in life is a lack of belief in themselves and their dreams.
5) Eliminate the Voices of Fear & Doubt … Continually: The only limitations in life are the ones we create, believe, and nourish within our own minds. People everywhere have great ideas, reachable dreams, and unlimited potential, but they spend too much time listening to the voices of fear, doubt, and failure that they never take action. Fear and doubt are unnecessary worry and evidence of a lack of self-confidence. They demonstrate one’s inability to control their thoughts and are the underlying reason for most failures. Fear and doubt breed inaction and procrastination, and ironically, these common thoughts are found in everyone. Thankfully, fear and doubt can be controlled and overcome by anyone – but this requires consistent daily effort because these voices never go away. We must discipline our thoughts constantly and remove from our vocabulary such words as: can’t, quit, unable, impossible, etc. Living our dreams requires killing our fears and doubts.
6) Completely Commit & Be Totally Determined: Most times, success results not from one’s ability or talent, knowledge or money, or even circumstance or luck; it comes from their zeal, drive, and determination to reach a goal or dream. The journey to success will inevitably be difficult, and it is in these trying moments that desire and belief are not enough; it is only a complete commitment and a determination to do whatever is takes to be successful that will get you through when fears and doubts come, failures arise, an easier path is presented, or others mock. When you completely commit to your goal and the accomplishment of your dream, you accept no excuses, you get up after temporary failures, and you persist in action until your desire and dream have been achieved.
7) Establish an Organized Plan & Goals: A cheap pen is perhaps just as important as a big dream! If our ideas, goals, and dreams are not written down, reviewed often, and specifically organized, then we risk becoming like the majority of dreamers who later in their life look back at missed opportunities and failed potential and regretfully say “I wish I would have.” Our plan and goals must not only be written but also reviewed often, revised occasionally, and be totally committed to. Specific, measurable, reachable and challenging actions must also accompany the goals; but never forget that the long term plan will win despite the short term failures. Challenges, obstacles, and failures are those things that only become reality when we take our focus off our goals. And while our goals literally can be achieved, remember that when setting and seeking to achieve our goals, it is better to aim high and miss than to actually aim low and achieve.
8) Take Action Now & Work Hard: Opportunities in life always come before we are prepared and are gone before we realize it. Success comes, dreams are realized, and potential is reached only by those who have the faith to take a risk and are willing to act. In fact, our dreams, ideas, goals, and even desires and beliefs are nothing unless followed by action. So, make a decision and do it now – regardless of whether you have the time, feel unprepared, or lack knowledge. You may not know what you are doing at first – but the key is to keep doing. Stephen King said it perfectly when he said: “what separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work.” Mistakes will be made, but ensure they are not mistakes of idleness, inability to decide, and unwillingness to act.
9) Learn From & Get Up After Failures: For whatever reason, in the moment of failure, we often wrongfully assume that we personally are failures, and we thus quit. Failure is not a person; it is an event that is absolutely necessary to achieve success. Failures are detours, not dead-end streets. And when such discouraging streets come, as they inevitably will, we should view them as roadblocks that cause others to quit and us to try harder. Has history itself not taught us this important lesson – from the American Revolutionary War to every World War, from the Mahatma Gandhi’s to the Martin Luther King’s, from the Abraham Lincoln’s to the Nelson Mandela’s, to even Thomas Edison whose invention still gives light to the entire globe, despite the fact that it took thousands of failures to achieve the success. The greatest athletes and performers, the brightest scientists and inventors, the most successful politicians and parents are those who experienced discouraging set backs, disappointments, and even failures before they ever succeeded. Refusing to quit or be discouraged was the secret to their incredible achievements.
10) Persist Always & Never Quit: Successful people make mistakes and experience failure, but they do not give excuses and absolutely never quit. Thomas Edison, of all people, had every right to say that “many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” Goals and dreams are accomplished, success is achieved, and our full potential is realized only after consistent daily effort and work over a long period of time. Persist and persevere until you succeed, and determine right now that you will never quit, regardless of what happens along the journey.
You can become and accomplish anything – and the formula above is the law for success to achieve your goals and dreams in life. However, in pursuit of your dreams, you must ensure that the priorities of life are not jeopardized and the necessary characteristics that determine true success are developed. Real success in life is not necessarily in the accomplishment of the goal or dream, it is determined by who we eventually become, the attributes we develop, and the people we help along the way. We need to give when we receive, put God and family first, and realize that developing a character of integrity, values, and unselfishness are why we are here; and thankfully, when these same attributes are combined with the laws of success, we will accomplish our goals and dreams and experience true success in life.

Napoleon Hill states that the road to success starts with your thoughts. Your positive thoughts will lead to consistent actions and eventual success in your life, business and relationships. The greatest asset that we possess is our mind. The greatest liability that we possess is our mind. The mind is a double edged sword, because your actions and in-actions all stems from the space between your ears. Failure arises when your mind is filled with negative thoughts that lead to total inactions. I use the following four methods to eliminate the negative thoughts.
1. Positive Feedback
You are told on a consistent basis that you will never amount to anything for most of your life. The odds are that you will begin to believe these statements made by your family and peers. The mind is like fertile land that if you plant seeds with the proper food and nutrients, then strong plants will grow. If you have a field that is overgrown with weed, shrubs and soil that is barren, then truly nothing positive will grow. The first thing we would have to do is clear this field and then work on the soil to make it fertile. Positive feedback is a great way to add fertilization to the soil. When I was in Junior High School, a teacher that I did not even know stop me in the hallway and told that he was looking forward to having me in his class next year. He turned out to be Mr. Rosen my mathematics teacher in the ninth grade. I received the highest Mathematics Regent score in the whole school and I walk the stage at graduation to celebrate that fact. The positive feedback that I knew he was receiving from other teachers had a lot to do with him approaching me. You must make list of incidents where people told you positive things about you to reinforce and strengthened your mind.
2. Mastermind Group
You must spend more time with the people that have your best interest at heart and less with the ones who don’t. Mastermind groups of like minded individual who spend time building you up to help you achieve your goals are the best people to associate yourself. You must cut out the negative naysayer that is currently in your life. If they are preoccupied with telling you how to live your life, then you need to cut them out. The most successful people have a network of positive and encouraging people. One of the richest men in the World, Warren Buffet, give another of the world’s richest, Bill Gates, billions of dollars to invest in Bill Gates ’s charity. I would definitely say that that relationship is one the best mastermind group in the World.
3. Storytelling
Superman is a superhero in a comic’s strip that narrates and tells his day to day life as a college student and as a super hero. Who do you see yourself as Clark Kent or Superman? I would like to say that most of us see ourselves as Superman. We would want enjoy the satisfaction of saving lives and helping people without all of the hoopla. We must visualize our lives the way we want it to be. We can write our own story where we are the superhero and not the victim. When you write your destiny the way you see it then your thoughts and actions will help you achieve it. We sometimes suffer from the victim’s mentality where we ask Superman why he is trying to save us. The victim has a strong desire to stay in his muck and mire and pull Superman down. Superman uses his mental strength and ability to stop you from making him a victim. Misery loves company, but you don’t have to be a willing companion. Visualization is one of the best ways to eliminate negative thought so you may more forward and achieve success in your life, business and relationships.
4. Media Blitz
I repeat that the mind is one of the greatest assets in our life. Our mind is also our greatest liability in our life. You can control almost everything that is placed in your mind on a daily basis. Personal development is a compilation of books, tapes, videos, seminars and audio that we listen or participated in. You may choose to develop your mind to a strong entity that allows you success in your life, business and relationship or let become barren where nothing may grow on it. The four methods above are great ways to overcome negativity on a regular basis.

“Finding Your Own North Star claiming the life you were meant to live” by Martha Beck really had me thinking about my life. Martha Beck writes about every body in our lives that stops us from finding our North Star. The people that deters us are normally are figment of our imagination. My previous articles discussed Martha Beck concept on the essential and social self. When the essential self and social self are in alignment, then we will have eternal bliss. When our social self is dominating, “every body” that deters us from achieving continuity within ourselves tends to appear. For example, if you decided to be a professional clown and not continue to be a banker. What kind of feedback would you get from the people in your life?
The segments of our lives that our social self generates opposition to the fusion of the social and essential self:
1. Family
2. Media Culture
3. Ideological Camps
4. School
5. Peers
6. Organizations
The six different segments listed above are or have been part of the way you think for most of your life. The problem arises when these segments are not directly making a judgment call on your decision and yet your social self manifest it. The fact remains that nobody or any organization has the right deter you from reaching your North Star. When you make the decision to line up your social self with what your essential self is feeling, then you will experience the happiest time in your life. The best way to overcome this is to listen to your essential self over your need to conform to your social self. The only way that fusion of your social self and essential self is if the essential finally takes over and make the decision necessary with an unwavering courage.

LIVING AND BEING IN THE FLOW OF LIFE Sitting down one evening to take a breath and reflect on the day that had been a total shocker, the realization of how living and being in the flow of life is not difficult. The day had started out with such promise. It was going to be a day of fun and frivolity. Unfortunately, instead of being true to myself, the opinions and influence of others took control. It would have been so much easier to have taken action and stood up for myself, but I did not want to rock the boat and create any ill will or hurt anyone’s feelings, never mind that I was being trampled on!.
It was at that moment in my life that I knew I had to create some rules that would govern how I live my life. It meant that I would be in the flow of life and find serenity and inner peace every day. I hope you can use these rules as a personal guide towards achieving your own happiness and inner peace…
TEN RULES TO LIVE BY
1. The only opinion that matters is your own – what other people think is totally irrelevant. Totally accept who you are, and remember that no-one is perfect. Everyone has something in the closest that brings them pain.
2. Be true to yourself and be who you are – it’s not necessary to be something you’re not in order to impress and/or to keep up with ‘the Jones’. Remember that real beauty is naked and has no adornment.
3. Inner peace comes from within … only you controls how or what you think. Get out of your head into your heart and really feel what you are thinking.
4. Find at least ten minutes a day – five minutes to write five things you are grateful for each day in your journal and five minutes to unwind, relax and let the day dissolve into serenity.
5. Material goods have a limited shelf life – you can’t buy inner peace – it comes from within and the only cost to you will be serenity.
6. Treat others as you wish to be treated. Respect and dignity can only be returned if you offer it. Remember the mirror!
7. Forgive any past failings you’ve had as well as anyone in your circle. Release any judgment and let go of all grudges. Embrace your past. Move on with your own life.
8. When it goes pear shaped and you have a crisis, work through the emotion and then let it go. Have no regrets as you are not the same person as yesterday. Life is forever changing!
9. Live fully in the present moment - attitude is contagious; surround yourself only with positive people. SMILE and the world will smile with you – it’s guaranteed!
10. Keep working on achieving change – it takes time and does not happen overnight – with practice, inner peace and self acceptance will be yours.
YOU CAN DO IT! Whilst not all days are diamonds, since I have started working at being in the flow of life and making a conscious decision to be at one with myself, the level of trust within me grows deeper and deeper each day.
Try it – the results are the proof of how great life can be if you live in the flow!
